Wer Saltimboccas Abstammung anschaut, landet früher oder später immer auf dem Gestüt Elwen. Väterlicherseits war der Elitehengst Sacramento Song prägend, dessen eindrucksvolles Äußeres auch in Saltimbocca wieder zu finden ist. Mütterlicherseits geht es über unsere Stute Cariline direkt zu zwei Dressurgrößen, die beide vom RGE abstammen, dem Vorgänger des Gestüts Elwen. Väterlicherseits steht mit Sacramento Song ein Elitehengst, der sich nicht nur sportlich sondern auch züchterisch bewiesen hat.


Trotzdem ist Saltimbocca durch und durch ein "Kleemann" und entspricht dem Warmblut, das wir auf unserem Hof züchten möchte: Mit viel sportlichem Potential und aufregendem Charakter.


Denn Kleepferde sind Charakterpferde. Das kann mal das eine bedeuten und mal das andere. Bei Salti heißt es ungefähr das Gegenteil von "klar im Kopf". Und das, obwohl sein Vater Senrontino die Ruhe selbst ist und ein wahrer Fels in der Brandung. Doch hier hat sich eindeutig unsere Cariline durchgesetzt. Unsere "kleine große Zicke", die immer kurz vorm Sprung in den Wahnsinn steht, ist in Saltimbocca eindeutig wieder zu erkennen. Er wird eine Herausforderung für seinen späteren Trainer. Zugleich steckt aber so viel Potential in ihm, dass der Kampf sich lohnt. Wenn wir es schaffen einen Weg zu finden, um mit dem kleinen Energiebündel klar zu kommen, dann sehen wir für ihn eine erfolgreiche Zukunft im großen Sport kommen.
