Der dunkelbraune Gentle Essence ist ein sehr zutraulicher Connemaraponyhengst mit viel Spaß am Laufen. Der junge Hengst ist sehr schnell und wendig, weshalb er als Turnier- und Trainingspferd den Turnierreitern für die Mounted Games gerne zur Verfügung steht. Auch läuft Gentle Essence unheimlich gerne um die Wette und gewinnt so manches Rennen auf der Weide. Im Umgang ist der Hengst normalerweise recht unkompliziert, präsentiert sich aber recht gerne und wirft sich in Pose. Auch unterm Sattel möchte der Hengst sich gerne präsentieren und zeigt sich dann oftmals von seiner Schokoladenseite. Zwar finden die Zuschauer das meist ganz toll und amüsant, als Reiter muss man ihn dann aber immer wieder daran erinnern, was eigentlich von ihm verlang ist. Allerdings ist Gentle Essence auch ein Pferd, mit dem man nicht zu oft dasselbe machen sollte. Zu schnell langweilt der Hengst sich und wird dann ungeduldig und unruhig , und kommt dann schnell auf dumme Gedanken. Leider hat der Connemarahengst recht deutliche Hengstmanieren in petto und zeigt auf der Weide öfter mal, dass er der Chef ist, und sonst niemand. Aber ganz abgesehen davon, würde er sich vermutlich ganz gut in der Zucht machen und einige leistungsstarke Nachkommen hervorbringen. Auf Turnieren ist der Connemarahengst meist etwas unruhig. Zwar gefällt es ihm, wenn er von so vielen Leuten beobachtet wird und sich präsentieren darf, dennoch machen ihn die vielen unbekannten Geräusche noch etwas nervös. Deshalb braucht er dort einen recht routinierten Reiter, der ihm Sicherheit und Coolness vermitteln kann. Da Gentle Essence keine tieferen Ängste hat, wird er sich wohl mit der Zeit an die Turniersituation gewöhnen und ruhiger werden. Während der Hengst leider nicht in der Millitary ausgebildet werden kann, so hat er dafür eine Doppelveranlagung im Springen und in der Dressur. Die hat er vermutlich von seinem Vater White Gentleness, was darauf hoffen lässt, dass er sein Potenzial in der Dressur und im Springen auch an seine Nachkommen weitergibt.
