Simonidas ist ein in Polen gezogener Vollbluthengst mit umheimlichem Temperament. Er ist anstrengend und fordernd und vor allem sehr eifersüchtig auf andere Pferde. Ist man mit ihm allein, ist der Rapphengst aber ein totaler Schmuser und sehr anhänglich. Er hat aber ein großes Problem mit Kindern und Hunden. Gerade bei Letzteren neigt er dazu in totale Panik zu verfallen und dann bleibt kein Stein auf dem Anderen. Unter dem Sattel zeigt er relativ selten Arbeitswillen obwohl ihm bei seiner Körung das Gangwerk die fast höchste Punktzahl einbrachte. Simonidas braucht einen Reiter bzw. Ausbilder, der in der Lage ist, dem Hengst Herr zu werden und sein Temperament in die richtige Richtung lenken kann. Mit dem richtigen Durchsetzungsvermögen ist bei dem Hengst also schon eine Menge getan. Der schicke Rappe braucht aber abgesehen davon vor allem eines : Abwechslung. Simonidas ist bisher zwar als scheufest aber auch als ziemlich arbeitsfaul aufgefallen. Auf dem Turnierplatz war das überraschenderweise keinen Deut besser als zuhause in der Halle. Diese Eigenschaft macht ihn allerdings zu einem extrem ruhigen Turnierpartner, was manche sicherlich auch zu schätzen wissen.
