Vængur ist ein auffallend hübscher Hengst, der insbesondere durch die tolle Färbung auffällt. Elegant und anmutig kommt er daher, besitzt aber trotzdem den typischen Ponyflair, mit dem er jedermann um den Finger wickeln kann. Auch vom Exterieur kann der Schecke überzeugen. Ebenso kann er auf eine erstklassige Abstammung zurückblicken, denn insbesondere sein Großvater Vinur, stationiert auf dem VRH Allertal, hat sich in der Islandszene einen Namen gemacht. Viele erfolgreiche Turnierstarts und etliche Nachkommen, die sich selbst hocherfolgreich in der Zucht etabliert haben, sind auf Vinur zurückzuführen, unter anderem auch Vængur's Vater Vekur. Charakterlich ist Vængur ein sehr zurückhaltender und angepasster Hengst, der die typischen Eigenschaften des Isländers in sich vereint. Menschenbezogen, äußerst robust und leicht zu handhaben ist der Fuchsschecke in jeder Situation. Selbst kleinsten Kindern gegenüber ist er sehr rücksichtsvoll und freundlich, bemüht sich stets allen Anforderungen gerecht zu werden und ist zudem noch absolut verträglich mit anderen Pferden. Doch trotzdem er sämtlichem Stress aus dem Weg geht und keinen Ärger provozieren möchte, kann er sich durchsetzen und hat sogar Ambitionen der Leithengst unter den Ponys zu werden. Zudem weiß Vængur auch unter dem Sattel zu überzeugen.
