Latina stand lange Zeit auf der Rheinländerzucht Happy Valley, einer Mitgliederzucht des Zuchtstalls Meiningen. Dort wurde sie viel im Sport eingesetzt, hat aber auch einige Fohlen bekommen, da sie ursprünglich nur Zuchtstute sein sollte. Ihre Mutter Miss Elli ist ein richtiges Sportpferd. Sie geht erfolgreich in Dressur, Springen und Vielseitigkeitsprüfungen und wurde auch schon in einigen Distanzprüfungen vorgestellt. Ihr Vater Largo steht auf der virtuellen Tierbörse und wurde kurz nach der Geburt von Latina kastriert. Er ist nun reines Sportpferd, was er auch sehr erfolgreich macht.
Latina war von Anfang an immer sehr zurückhaltend und schüchtern. Fremden gegenüber ist sie immer sehr misstrauisch und es dauert immer eine ganze Zeit bis sie sich dem Fremden öffnet und ihm vertraut. Dann ist sie allerdings eine ganz verschmuste und liebe Maus, die gerne Aufmerksamkeit bekommt und am liebsten den ganzen Tag gekuschelt werden will. Im Umgang ist sie also ein ganz problemloses Pferd. Sobald sie Vertrauen zu einem hat kann man praktisch alles mit ihr machen, weswegen man sie eventuell auch gut für Einsteiger oder Umsteiger nutzen könnte. Unter dem Sattel ist Latina einfach unermüdlich. Sie arbeitet und arbeitet und man hat den Eindruck, dass die dunkelbraune Stute einfach nicht müde wird. Schon als Fohlen konnte sie den ganzen Tag herumtollen, ohne ins Schwitzen zu kommen. Ein besonderer Vorteil ist dies natürlich im Gelände, denn man bekommt nur selten Kraft- oder Ausdauerprobleme mit ihr.
Insgesamt ist Latina eine sehr verschmuste und liebevolle Stute die unter dem Sattel eine fleißige Kämpferin und einfach unermüdlich ist.
