In Aber Hallo kann man sich schnell täuschen, wenn einem der schlanke, zierliche Hengst einen vorsichtigen Blick vom anderen Koppelende zuwirft. Obwohl er äußerlich keinen besonders kräftigen Eindruck macht und auf Menschen anfangs ziemlich schüchtern wirkt, ist der Haflinger vollkommen überzeugt von sich und seinen Fähigkeiten. Selbstsicher wie er ist stellt es bei Aber Hallo kein Problem dar, wenn einmal kein Artgenosse in der Nähe ist, im Gegenteil. Er ist eher in sich gekehrt und reagiert auf andere Hengste meist ziemlich genervt. Viel Zeit verbringt er daher auch alleine, abseits der Herde, auch wenn er keine Scheu vor kleinen Kämpfen mit Artgenossen zeigt. Diese Rangeleien, ob spielerisch oder ernst, enden jedoch spätestens dann, wenn Aber Hallo die Lust daran verliert und deutlich zeigt, dass es ihm reicht. Anders ist das bei Menschen, denn hier hat der Haflinger von Anfang an gelernt, sich respektvoll zu verhalten. Allerdings ist er bei unbekannten Personen etwas kritisch und verhält sich zurückhaltend. Die Vorstellung, sich einem Fremden widerspruchslos unterzuordnen, ist ihm alles andere als angenehm, doch Erziehung ist Erziehung – im Gegensatz zu anderen dominanten Pferden neigt er nicht dazu, seine Reiter und Pfleger auszutesten. Aber Hallo lässt sich brav führen und ist eigentlich immer gut zu kontrollieren. Auch unter dem Sattel zeigt er sich lernwillig und kann viel Geduld bei den Übungen aufweisen, wenn etwas nicht gleich klappt. Dennoch ist er alles andere als gemütlich und während des Trainings mit viel Elan bei der Sache. Seine starken Gangarten lassen darauf schließen, dass er das Dressurpotential seines Vaters geerbt hat und sein Schwerpunkt ebenfalls ganz klar in dieser Disziplin liegt.
