Züchter
Vorlaut ist für Darwin noch gar kein Ausdruck. Er stiftet Unruhe auf der Koppel und verscheucht sogar die ganz großen Artgenossen ohne auch nur Anzeichen von Respekt zu haben. Der Falabellahengst scheint sich selbst auf mindestens 2 Meter zu schätzen, obwohl er gerade einmal 86cm misst. Tatsächlich ist er aber der Boss in der Herde und genau das macht ihn im Umgang manchmal anstrengend. Durch seine Oma hat er Wildpferdgene in seinem Blut, die ihn berechnend und vorsichtig aber auch aufmüpfig und eben wild machen.
"Darwin kommt am besten mit einer festen Bezugsperson klar. Dort ist die Rangordnung geklärt und er braucht sich nicht aufspielen. Das Vertrauen muss man sich hart erarbeiten, daher sind Gelegenheitspfleger einfach nicht das Richtige für ihn."
Mit seinem hitzigen Gemüt kann er auch schon mal von einem auf den anderen Moment ausbrechen und sich beweisen wollen. Er braucht eine konsequente und angstfreie Führung, die gleichzeitig aber auch sensibel und geduldig ist. Wenn der Hengst Vertrauen zu seinem Pfleger hat und sich bei ihm auch gut versorgt fühlt, dann ist er in der Regel die Ruhe selbst und geht auch auf Shows und Veranstaltungen brav dabei. Wenn er sich nicht so richtig sicher fühlt, übernimmt er lieber selber die Rolle des Bestimmers und die Veranstaltung wird ein Desaster.
