Auch wenn Dark Light im ersten Moment ein eher bequemes Pony ist, das Faulenzen in der Sonne bevorzugt und sich gerne ausgiebig putzen lässt, so lässt er sich dennoch auch für den Sport begeistern. Nach einer Anlaufzeit ist er äußerst erfolgreich, besonders im Springen. Die Vielseitigkeit und das Springen im Gelände scheinen ihn am meisten zu begeistern, Naturhindernisse überwindet er mutig und im Parcours ist er sehr aufmerksam. Durch seine Bequemlichkeit ist er eher als sozial anzusehen, denn bevor es zum Streit kommt und er doch aktiv etwas tun muss, zieht er lieber den Kürzeren. Bei zu langer Stehzeit wird er aber tatsächlich unausgeglichen, zickig und durchaus stürmisch beim Reiten.
