Wer gute Springmanier, Rittigkeit und Temperament vereint sucht, der wird bei Apollo fündig. Jedoch darf man - so schön er sich auch reiten lässt - den Perlino Hengst nicht unterschätzen. Ist er unterm Sattel ein Schatz liegt das einzig und alleine am Reiter. Denn nur ein Reiter der sich durchsetzen kann und weiß was er will wird mit Apollo wirklich erfolgreich sein. Jeden Fehler und jede Unaufmerksamkeit wird von diesem Hengst nämlich ausgenutzt. So ist es auch schon passiert, dass er bei den Übungen einfach bei einer Stute aufreiten wollte... samt Reiter! Man sollte also immer mit voller Konzentration bei dem Hengst sein, der alles andere als lieb und knuddelig ist und durchaus auch Hengstmanieren hat. Wer nun aber denkt er wäre als Zuchthengst nicht geeignet wegen seinem Sturkopf der irrt. Gerade durch seine eigenständige Art ist er im Springparcours nämlich erfolgreich und auch in der Dressur nicht zu verachten. Sein Mitdenken spricht für ihn und ist genau das, was ein sportliches Pony ausmachen sollte. Nur eben für Anfänger ist er nicht geeignet. An der Hand ist Apollo wesentlich gehorsamer, aber auch hier ist Konsequenz und auch körperliche Stärke gefragt. Eine Hengstkette liegt bei ihm ganz richtig. Stuten sind für ihn immer ein Grund alle Manier und Ruhe zu verlieren und sich aufzuführen wie ein wilder Hengst. Der einzige im Stall! Der beste Deckhengst den diese Stute gerade treffen kann. Da ist es mit Tänzeln nicht getan, da wird sich auch aufgebäumt und am liebsten würde er die Stuten auch jagen und decken. Da ist dann eben nur der Mensch hinderlich, der ihn rechtzeitig daran hindert. Kein Kinderpony eben. Sein arabischer Vater MOONWALKER hat der Linie ein schlankes aber kraftvolles Auftreten und ein gutes Temperament verschafft. Im Distanzreiten aber auch im Springen ist der Vater erfolgreich gewesen. MALAK - ebenso ein Araber - kennt man als erfolgreichen Distanzreiter, der Ausdauer und Intelligenz vereinte und so seinen Reiter und sich stets sicher ins Ziel brachte. Die Araberstute AAMINAH war als Zuchtstute eine gute Investition. Liebevoll und konsequent zog sie ihre Kinder auf und vermittelte ihnen eine gewisse Nähe zu den Menschen. Durch die Mutter APOSTOLIANA mit ihrem wunderschönen Smoky Cream bekam Apollo seine tolle Perlino Farbe. Auch das Temperament seines Vaters wird durch den Sanftmut seiner Mutter leicht gebremst, so dass eine leistungsstarke Linie zusammen gekommen ist. APOSTEL sorgte mit seinem Cremellokleid für die Aufhellung von Apostoliana und durch seine starke Bemuskelung und seinen korrekten Körperbau für ein gutes Fundament im Springsport. LIA hatte durch ihre einheitliche schwarze Farbe eine gute Grundlage für die Smoky Cream Nachkommenschaft, die sie direkt drei Mal mit Cremellohengsten in die Welt setzte. Eine Verpaarung mit Apollo bringt starke Sportponys aber mit einer sehr schmalen Figur. Wer ein prächtiges Freizeitpony sucht, das als Gewichtsträger durchs Gelände stapft wird bei Apollo keinen Erfolg haben. Für die Farb- und Sportzucht ist er aber allemal zu empfehlen.
