Afternoon's Light ist eine treue und genügsame Ponystute. Im Umgang ist die kleine Stute absolut lieb, ruhig und gut erzogen. Man kann mit ihr alles machen, sie bleibt immer ruhig und gelassen. Auch kleine Kinder können mit der Ponystute umgehen. Auch mit ihren Artgenossen versteht sich Afternoon's Light wunderbar, auch wenn sie nicht die Ranghöchste ist.
"Unter dem Sattel ist die junge Stute teilweise etwas faul, dann muss man sie einfach ein paar mal aufmerksam machen und antreiben."
Meistens arbeitet sie aber wunderbar mit, sofern man nicht zu lange reitet und sie nicht überfordert. Da die braune Stute auch sehr trittsicher ist, kann man mit ihr auch lange Geländeritte unternehmen.
