Tilla zeigt sich in den meisten Situationen ruhig und ausgeglichen. Zwar hat er auch schon mal Momente, wo er aufgewühlt und lebhaft ist - wie man das von einem Hengst wünscht - aber er bleibt dabei händelbar und wird auch nicht unberechenbar. Hengstmanieren zeigt er wenige, dafür umso eindrucksvoller. Beim Vorbeiführen an Stuten, beim Ausreiten in der Gruppe oder beim Präsentieren auf Turnieren gibt es mit ihm keine Probleme. Er plustert sich höchstens auf, zeigt was für ein Prachtkerl er ist und genießt den Trubel um sich herum. Herausforderungen gefallen dem Hengst sehr und so sind neue Situationen für ihn nicht angsteinflößend, sondern wecken seine Neugierde. Pfleger und Reiter haben damit ein leichtes Spiel ihn auszubilden.
Im Gelände kann man sich hundertprozentig auf ihn verlassen. Er hat ein starkes Gemüt und ist trittsicher. Allerdings sollte man bei Gruppenausritten darauf achten, keinen weiteren dominanten Hengst mitzunehmen. Denn die Position ist mit Batilla schon gefüllt und so ist er nicht auf jeden anderen Hengst gut zu sprechen. Stuten oder Wallache kann man dagegen problemlos mitnehmen. Doch auch neben dem sicheren Geländeritt bietet Batilla noch mehr. Mit ordentlich Temperament und einem hitzigen Eifer lässt ihn jeder noch so schwierige Springparcours locker aussehen. Seine Springmanier ist einwandfrei und selbst ein schlecht angerittenes Hindernis wird noch fehlerfrei von ihm überwunden. Trotz des hohen Tempos lässt er sich noch immer gut leiten und bleibt rittig.
