Don`t Touch ist eigentlich ein ganz wohlerzogener Wallach, allerdings sollte man sich nicht darauf ausruhen, denn hin und wieder tickt in ihm plötzlich mal was schief und er erschreckt sich vor einem Eimer oder ist doch nicht das ruhige brave Pferdchen, das er sonst so mimt. Ein konsequenter, wachsamer Umgang mit ihm, verhindert so kleine Testereien meist von Anfang an, sollte er es doch versuchen, muss man ihn halt zurechtweisen. Am Putzplatz ist er immer ein aufmerksamer, der seine Umgebung gerne im Blick behält und sich mitteilsam gibt. Grundsätzlich ist jeder Vorbeikommende eine potenzielle Leckerlie-Quelle und wird entsprechend gewürdigt.
Wenn Touch mal Auslauf hat, nutzt er den auch gerne und rennt mit viel Tatendrang herum. Geht er voll aus sich heraus, kann man bei dem Fuchs wunderschön ausgeprägte Grundgangarten finden. Wenn dann noch eine hübsche Dame auf der anderen Seite des Zauns steht, macht er sich gerne ganz rund und versucht Eindruck zu schinden. Die Tatsache, dass er mit 12 Jahren gelegt wurde, tut dem keinen Abbruch, denn seine Hengstmanieren sind weiterhin gut ausgeprägt. Ablehnung oder Missachtung spornen ihn dabei nur an und er wiehert oft noch lange nach, wenn die Angebetete schon außer Sicht ist.
Unterm Sattel zeigt er gerne viel Vorwärtsdrang, was ihn beim Reiten nicht immer leicht macht. Hat man sich einmal an die viele Energie und den Elan des Wallachs gewöhnt, merkt man, wie fein er an den Hilfen steht und wie sehr er auf Lektionen brennt. Er kann konzentriert arbeiten und die Dressurarbeit scheinbar mühelos verrichten, solange der Reiter im Sattel weiß, was er eigentlich tut. Bei unerfahrenen Reitern lässt er gerne einfach nur Energie raus und gibt wenig auf das, was von oben zaghaft ankommt.
Im Grunde ist Touch vor allem ein Dressurpony. Er geht wohl auch mal im Parcours und schafft einige Hindernisse, aber so richtig motiviert ist er nur, wenn er Dressurarbeit machen darf.
