Day Dream ist ein Sportpferd durch Mark und Bein. Er liebt es zu Springen und ist auch gar nicht schlecht darin. Er ist beim Springen manchmal fast zu eiferig und der Reiter muss ihn zurückhalten. Die Dressur dagegen findet er manchmal schon etwas langweilig, so dass es dem Reiter nicht immer gelingt, ihn zu motivieren. Dank seiner schönen Gänge kann er hier sogar noch weiter kommen als im Springen, nur an der Arbeitsbereitschaft scheitert es hier manchmal. Böswillig wird er dabei nicht, eher rennt er stur weiter, ohne auf die Hilfe einzugehen, und setzt den Ausdruck "Ich will ja nicht, ich find alles doof" auf. Auf Turnieren ist er dann doch bereit, zu zeigen, was er kann, wenn er es mal vermasselt, liegt das wohl daran, dass er die Übungen nicht wirklich kann, da im Training mit dem Kopf woanders war. Im Umgang ist Day Dream sehr lieb, er ist absolut nicht schreckhaft und es kommt so gut wie nie vor, dass das Reitpony an etwas nicht vorbei will. Beim Putzen kann er schon mal unruhig werden, wenn es ihm zu lange dauert. Seine Hengstmanieren waren nie stark ausgeprägt, und jetzt, als Wallach, kommt er mit Stuten auch ganz normal zurecht.
