Belladonna de Minuit ist so etwas wie die Schattenseite zu Quinaras Sternenlicht – elegant, still, klug und mit einem Blick, der alles sieht. Im Stall ist sie reserviert, fast königlich, aber niemals unhöflich. In der Prüfung allerdings wird sie zur Kraftbombe – hochkonzentriert, flink, mit einer fast tänzerischen Präzision im Parcours.
Von ihrem Vater Nocturne de Lys hat sie das taktvolle Springen, den ausdrucksstarken Sprungablauf und ihre tiefe Konzentration geerbt. Der Großvater Midnight Affair war eine echte Legende im französischen Sport – kompromisslos leistungsbereit, mit einem Hauch Dramatik im Auftritt.
Die Mutter Belle Épine gab Belladonna den sensiblen, feinfühligen Charakter mit, der sie im Umgang besonders macht. Volcan d’Or, der Muttervater, war ein athletisches Kraftpaket mit ausgeprägter Schnellkraft, die Belladonna in Kombination mit ihrer Technik zur Geheimwaffe im Stechen macht.
