Alastair WM is one of the several akhal tekes that Whitewood Inc purchased from a quality teke breeder, bred and raised with eventing in mind. We had to have him and are more than pleased with the work they did with him, choosing to leave him there for training for quite a few years before deciding to bring him home to begin his career. So far he has shown to be a great ambassador of his breed, and of his breeder. Sticking true to type Alastair WM is an exceptional athlete, covering the ground and jumps of the cross country course with exceptional heart and form. He has yet to shy or refuse in any way at an obstacle and he is a great example of the loyalty his breed has been developed to exhibit readily. In the hairiest of situations, he would be one of my first choices, a protector and willing partner no matter the circumstances. Dressage and the more precise show jumping ring have seemed to give him his troubles at times but heart and athleticism seem to win through every time and we have no regrets whatsoever about introducing this fine specimen to the farm.
