Genealogy
Links: 0 Generations (gerade)
?
Generations indicate the number of fully linked generations. If only individual ancestors beyond that are linked, the lineage is considered uneven. (Example: only one parent linked = 0 generations (uneven))
Line Index: 29
?
The lineage index (LI) indicates how rare a lineage is. Each horse starts with a base value that increases with every ancestor. Common ancestors and a large number of descendants reduce the value. A high index represents a well-linked horse with a rare lineage, while a low index indicates established, widely used lines. The value is recalculated nightly and is relative to the overall population, so it may change regularly.

More information
Carlonia's sire is Carbano, who also sired Cotopaxi, who was said to have an excellent walk and a show jumping superstar. Carbano's sire, Carthago was a famous Olympic grand prix show jumper who produced grand prix show jumpers as well. His sire, Capitol I is a very influential show jumping sire and producer of many approved holsteiner sons. Carthago's dam, Perra was also a very influential holsteiner who bred several incredible sires and show jumpers. Perra's sire, Calando I is of course the Olympic grand prix show jumper and broodmare sire extrordinaire. Perra's dam Kerrin, was an incredible show jumper herself and by a stallion who produced many internationally ranked show jumpers. Carlonia's dam Acolonia is by Lenz who was a grand prix show jumper and sired by a son of the great Ladykiller who is one of the most influential thoroughbreds of show jumpers. On Acolonia's dam side there are some dressage horses as well as further back in many other places in her pedigree.
Carlonia was purchased at a winter auction in 2010. She had some solid dressage work and was showing at fourth level already. She has lovely gaits and looks very elegant under sadlle. She also makes her rider look good which is a big bonus. She is very uncomplicated to ride and has a lot of natural balance and collection. She has been free jumped and has a fabulous jump as well and maybe trained to show in jumpers also. Her pedigree has many famous dressage horses as well as show jumpers so she should be equally as good in both as well as a prime broodmare prospect for either show jumpers or dressage foals.
