Zusammen mit Morning in June kam dieser BRP-Hengst zu uns. Er hat sich als recht lauffreudig und geländesicher herausgestellt mit Ambitionen im Spring- und Vielseitigkeitssport. Mit der Dressur hat er es nicht so, denn Sam kann sich nur schwer konzentrieren und ist schnell mal abgelenkt, wenn ihn was nicht so wirklich interessiert. Im Springen merkt man von seiner Konzentrationsschwäche nichts und man könnte denken, er tut beim Dressurreiten immer nur so. Ansonsten ist Sam aber recht gelassen und freut sich über jeden, der den Stall betritt oder an die Koppel kommt. Er nimmt nur Leckerlies von seinem Besitzer entgegen, was eine gute Eigenschaft ist. Außerdem ist Sammy ziemlich robust und hatte bisher kaum eine Krankheit. Mal einen Schnupfen oder Husten, doch eine Kolik hatte er noch nie. Sammy Joe ist neben Royal Dublin ein weiteres "Aushängeschild" unseres Hofes, ein Spitzenvererber erster Klasse.
