Oliver ist ein sehr verlässlicher Typ Pferd. Er hat einen absoluten Faible für Menschen und durchsucht jedes Mal die Taschen, um vielleicht irgendwo noch ein verstecktes Leckerli zu finden. Im Umgang mit ihm ist der Hengst sehr unkompliziert. Ihn kann man ohne Druck Anweisungen vom Boden geben und er führt diese ohne jegliche Weigerung aus.
Wenn man im Sattel sitzt, ist Oliver ein sehr fleißiger Hengst. Unsere Reiter reiten ihn soweit es geht ohne Sporen und Gerte, weil er darauf sehr sensibel reagiert. Auf den Schenkel reagiert er manchmal etwas stumpf, doch man kann ihn mit der Stimme unterstützen.
Der Hengst lässt sich wunderbar aussitzen. Bei ihm kann man stundenlang im Sattel sitzen, ohne, dass der Hintern oder die Beine anfangen wehzutun. Dabei hat er eine sehr kräftige und schwungvolle Galoppade, an die man sich erstmal gewöhnen muss.
Sir Oliver will beschäftigt werden. Er mag es nicht tagelang auf der Weide zu stehen, sonst ist er dann beim nächsten Training sehr spritzig und kann durchaus auch mal bocken und seinen Reiter in den Sand setzen.
