Auch wenn Kaltblüter immer als schwerfällig gelten: Mayesta ist das absolute gegenteil. Sie ist für ein Shire sehr wendig und wird auch ziemlich schnell, wenn man sie laufen lässt. Im Geländefahren aber auch im Hindernisfahren ist sie mit vollem Eifer dabei, konzentriert sich und arbeitet gut mit. Das Dressurfahren hingegen findet sie recht langweilig, hier muss man immer hinterher sein und sie antreiben.
In der Herde ist sie ziemlich verträglich, nur sehr dominante Stuten mag sie nicht gerne. Häufig sieht man sie in der Nähe von Stuten mit Fohlen stehen und sie versucht auch gerne mal, die jungen Vierbeiner zu putzen und zu bemuttern.
Alles in allem ist Maya sehr umgänglich, auch wenn sie ziemlich frech werden kann, wenn sie keine Aufmerksamkeit bekommt.
