Gladstone ist ein vielseitiger und dynamischer Württembergerhengst. Im Umgang ist er freundlich im Beisein von Stuten jedoch auch des Öfteren recht hengstig. Menschen gegenüber ordnet er sich jedoch gut unter und er hat keine Unarten solange er ausgelastet ist. Er hat einen enormen Bewegungsbedarf, und man sollte sich viel mit ihm beschäftigen, da er sonst schnell unausgelastet wird. Unterm Sattel ist er ein echter Kavalier. Er steht sehr gut an den Hilfen, reagiert sehr fein und lässt sich sehr gut regulieren. Seine große Stärke liegt im Springen. Im Parcours ist er immer hellwach, taxiert die Sprünge genau und ist sehr wendig. Von sich aus verweigert er keinen Sprung, wenn dies einmal vorkommt trägt immer der Reiter die Schuld weil er den Sprung dann komplett falsch angeritten ist.
