Full Metal Jacket ist ein sehr schwieriger Charakter und oft ein ziemlicher Herausforderer. Jack ist oft sehr nörgerlich was das Futter, die Ausrüstung, dem Training oder den Reiter betreffen. Sein Lebensmotto ist ohne Herausforderungen ist das Leben langweilig.
Daher ist er auch in der Händelbarkeit recht kompliziert da er schon auch sehr lebhaft und hengstig ist. Er braucht einen Menschen, dem er vertraut und dann kann er gefühlt über sich hinauswachsen.
Mit Artgenossen kommt er meist recht gut aus aber man braucht ein gutes Händchen beim Auswählen der richtigen Weidepartner. Da er auch hier öfter etwas nörgerlich und anstregend ist.
