Akaziens Nobileo ist ein Beobachter, wie er im Buche steht. Wer ihn nicht kennt, würde seine Zurückhaltung zunächst für Skepsis halten – doch das ist bei Weitem nicht der Fall. Und schon gar nicht das Wesen dieses kleinen Haflingers.

Nobileo beobachtet, weil er neugierig ist. Zuerst wird geschaut, dann überlegt, und dann gehandelt. Er erinnert manchmal an das Klischee der Pinguine: „Ich schubs mal alle anderen ins Meer und schaue, ob da ein Seeleopard drin ist!“ Natürlich entbehrt dieses Gerücht jeder wissenschaftlichen Grundlage, aber einmal in Umlauf gebracht, wird man es nicht mehr so schnell los – wenn überhaupt.

Nobileo schubst aber nicht seine Artgenossen vor Füchse oder Wölfe oder Wildschweine, sondern… er beobachtet eben. Nimmt in sich auf, was um ihn herum passiert. Und wenn er es für wichtig genug hält, sich am Geschehen zu beteiligen, dann tut er das – andernfalls ignoriert er es und sucht sich etwas, das seine Aufmerksamkeit wert ist.
