Phantom Buckshot ist für sein Alter ein echt feiner Kerl, der neugierig und sehr offen gegenüber Neuem ist. Zudem ist er sehr selbstsicher und mutig. Er liebt es im Mittelpunkt zu stehen und fordert daher auch Zuwendung ein. Er ist stets motiviert, manchmal etwas übereifrig und kann auch schon mal Überdrüber sein, wenn er sehr aufgeregt ist. Grundsätzlich ist Phantom aber gut händelbar und recht gelassen. Wichtig bei ihm ist, dass man im Umgang mit ruhig bleibt, denn hektische und schnelle Bewegungen machen ihn nervös und unruhig. Auch geduldig mit sein ist wichtig, denn manches lernt er nicht so schnell wie andere Pferde. Das liegt jedoch meist daran, dass in ihm noch ein Jungspund steckt, der Flausen im Kopf hat und keine Lust hat groß zu werden. Phantom testet daher gerne mal seine Grenzen aus und ist aus diesem Grund auch nicht für unerfahrene Reiter zu empfehlen. Dennoch kann er ein super lieber und charmanter Kerl sein. Er lässt sich gerne streicheln und kraulen. Der Quarter Hengst hasst es gewaschen zu werden und hat Angst vor Gewitter und Feuer. Auch bei kleinen Hunden legt er die Ohren an, doch dafür mag er Kinder.
