"Es heißt, die Sorgen bleiben dir immer fern." Tja, also, das stimmt bei den beiden Halbbrüdern nicht unbedingt immer, denn die können manchmal sturer als Esel sein. Allerdings sind die zwei unzertrennlich, hängen aneinander wie Pech und Schwefel. Hakuna ist definitiv der ruhigere und vernünftigere der beiden, während sein kleiner Bruder Matata die Welt erkunden und Grenzen ausloten will. Beide sind für den Fahrsport gezogen und da sie sich so gut verstehen, eignen sie sich wunderbar für den Zweispänner. Auch unter dem Sattel können sie eine gute Figur machen, auch wenn sie vor der Kutsche deutlich glücklicher sind.
